Starting Wean Pigs

Needed:

-- 83 degrees before arrival

-- 90 degrees plus for first couple days

-- Mats or plywood for heat zone

-- Pigs eat as a group when sow calls.  Feeders won't accomodate, so mats are a benefit

-- Mats for 3 days and feed 5 or more times/day.  At 4-10 days, feed 3-4 times or as needed

-- Spot disadvantaged pigs and administering timely treatment is critical

-- Sick Pen
